A clean India would be the best tribute India could pay to Mahatma Gandhi said Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi. By the youth participating in the drive, the Swach Bharat Abhiyan has turned into a National Movement. A sense of responsibility has been evoked among the people through the Clean India Movement. With citizens now becoming active participants in cleanliness activities across the nation, the dream of a ‘Clean India’ once seen by Mahatma Gandhi has begun to get shape.
The Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is the most significant cleanliness campaign by the Government of India. Its the responsibility of every citizen of India to keep their surroundings clean. While this programme people were encouraged to maintain their surroundings clean. Thus the students of Rungta college have initiated one step toward cleanliness.
The Rungta College of Engineering and Technology aims that the student community can be shaped to be good citizens with a mindset to make the concept of ‘Clean and Green India’ a reality. The volunteers from the college cleaned the entire campus wearing gloves and collected all the litter in big bags for disposal. The volunteers were instructed to clean their hands with soap at the end. Refreshments were distributed to volunteers. All the Management, Staff and Students participated in giving their valuable support to make the Swach Bharat Abhiyaan activity a grand success.
Many people including the student’s parents participated in the cleanliness drive organised by the institution under the programme ‘Swach Bharat Abhiyan. The programme began with the remembrance of Mahatma Gandhi. Students cleaned the campus. The students also participated in creating awareness among the public, informing them about the importance of cleanliness. They also took the initiative to clean the surroundings of the vicinity.
